Essay 1 - Rough DraftÂ
Reviewer Note
Hi Sofia! I loved reading your rough draft and found the subject of the essay both relatable and emotionally engaging. I can see where you might have some concerns with detail, and if there's anything you could improve upon then maybe it's simply adding a few details regarding your experience at school or living in Panama. However, overall, I thought it was very well written!

Hi Sofia, I really enjoyed reading your essay since your experience learning English is something I can relate to. I related to when you said walking into a room felt like everyone knew the rules except for you. I think your story is clear and I like how you wrote this like it is a journey you took on, especially the progression from you being comfortable with Spanish to later gaining confidence in English. To answer your concern, I think something you could improve on would be adding some more detail in important moments, like when you explain the interactions in the classroom, adding a specific moment would make it easier for the reader to connect with the experience. For your organization concern, I think it is clear and in order as to when events happened. Although, I think some ideas could feel a bit repetitive, like when you mention the English difficulties. I think combing those sentences could help with the flow. Overall I really enjoyed reading your essay and it shows great growth from you with literacy!
Essay 2 - Rough Draft
Reviewer Note
Hello Sophia! Overall, I think the content of your essay is good, but I noticed a few formatting errors. For MLA, these are the big things I caught: bolded title, centered text, no paragraph indent, and no last name next to page numbers. To fix this, unbold the title, shift the text to be left oriented, press tab (to indent) in front of each paragraph, and add your last name in front of the number of page 1 (if formatted correctly, the last name will add itself to all pages). Hope this helps!

The Revision Process
Integrating peer and instructor feedback required a systematic approach to re-evaluating my rhetorical choices. By addressing the clarity of my technical explanations and streamlining my narrative arc, I was able to transform a collection of memories into a cohesive literacy narrative. This process mirrors the engineering design cycle: identify requirements, analyze constraints, and iterate based on testing and feedback to achieve a professional-grade final product.
